Day 1 of my Journey: Lately I’ve been trying to figure out what’s Changing in the World of Tech and the item at the Top of my List keeps popping up as :”Own Your Name” …. I felt pretty good about that as I’ve owned https://www.richbriere.com for decades…..but never used it. The only thing I see popping up routinely is the Amazing increase in Cyber Nautyness . That might not actually be a Word…but it IS definitely a Thing. :)

The general population of Humanoids is using Social Media but folks much more in-the-know than me are all in agreement that the #1 priority should be that YOU own your name before someone ELSE owns your name. That theft takes only seconds to accomplish and I highly recommend that you get with the program. https://www.whois.com would be a good spot to get the details. Run a business? Equally as important….MORE Important in fact. Go ahead…Register your domain name after Googling it to see if someone else already owns it. There are options if that’s the case. I’ll wait. :)



  • Everything I’m doing here is Experimental at this point….. I’ll be adding in info a bit at a time for the next few weeks at the very least in order to keep my stress level and yours to a minimum as I figure out how to build a web site. So far, it’s been Hilarious. Quite similar to rubbing your head and scratching your belly at the same time.

    I’ve already discovered that if you look at a site on a phone, it’s going to appear totally different than it would if you use a laptop or a iMac….which, by the way, is the device I’m creating this content with.

    I have several loves in my life and Old Sunn Amplifiers are high on the list. I’ll be adding more content in that department as well as VOX, another addiction, shortly.


    I WAS a total Apple 🍎Fan Boy until Tim Cook began kissing trump’s ass. While I certainly understand WHY he did it I’m fairly certain that Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, wouldn’t have sunk to those depths. That was a Crushing Blow to my Apple Happiness…pure Joy that I’d held close to my heart since first meeting Steve. Will I recover from that? Nope…..but I’m learning how to deal with it. :)











Aging and Memories become a Driving Force as the Years tick by. I think that living alone, at least in my case, has contributed greatly to a low-level and subtle feeling of unhappiness as I watch things change around me. I had my personal bar of expectations set fairly high as far as where I’d be at this point in my life……..and as I approached my 75th (Holy SHIT!) Birthday on Earthday, I honestly admit that it didn’t go as expected. Don’t get me Wrong, I‘m a VERY Happy Guy……dealing with a World that’s a bit NUTS at the Moment.

My original plan was to have fulfilled all of my Dreams and Fantasies by this point. I had absolutely NO Doubts that it’d go in that direction because the first two-thirds of my Life were pretty incredible. Did it happen? Nope. 😂 The Mansion isn’t here. The Car Barn filled with at least 20 of my favorite “Mean Machines” isn’t here. That’s quite a Bummer, eh? Well….what IS here?

Rich gets it Right: I’ve always found it comical that there are TWO very different types of people when it comes to…uhm… Reproduction. I knew from a VERY early age that I didn’t want Kids. As if that’s not enuff, I couldn’t really understand WHY or HOW those who DID reproduce were able to do it! Sure, I understood the physical act which brought the process of “Creation” about…but just the thought of changing a dirty diaper has no place in my thought processes…🙈..and yet….while standing safely across the room I’ve actually witnessed parents deal with that very deed….and Smile as they did it!!

Changing Diapers !! It’s one of the Great Mysteries of Mankind and I was/am quite fortunate to have escaped it.

I was lucky to find a Female mate who felt the same way that I did so it all worked out perfectly. Why then, you ask yourself, did I end up an OLD, single geezer lacking his “Car Barn”? I won’t go into details….but let’s just leave it for now as “Shit Happens”. …. and Dreams get Vaporized. The Trick is to Roll with the Punches….and in the words of my Hero, Dirty Harry / Clint Eastwood….”A Man’s GOT to Know his Limitations” I’m quickly adding some to my own Life…….and dragging you, kicking and screaming, along with me.

I’m often asked why, if I spent YEARS working at Fender and going so far as to create the RB Classic instruments with John Page assisting and guiding me as he was running the Fender Custom Shop, why do I prefer Ernie Ball Music Man basses.

The short answer is a simple one….My Dedication was always to Leo Fender……and the Instruments he brought to the World. …not to ANY Corporation. I’ve had several interactions with EBMM over the years and the Ball Family and their staff are people I admire.

If you worked at, let’s say, Dunkin’ Donuts for Years and Years and discovered Incredibly Strange things that went on in the World of Donuts, I’m reasonably certain that you’d find another source from which to grab Coffee and a Donut. Am I right? Of course I am. I’m almost ALWAYS right. 😂

I devoted a HUGE part of my Life to Fender…..but I’d been addicted to fine basses OTHER than those we were making and I’m still an addict.

There’s an important distinction between “Businesses” and “Builders” and I remain convinced from my own Experiences that trying to be BOTH isn’t an easy task by any means

. Imagine the Beatles without their Manager, Brian Epstein. The World would be a very different place today. 🎶
